Abby discovers that she has always been a witch, and just didn't know it, after her mother dies. She initially rejects the idea as nonsense, but when strange things start to happen around her, she learns the hard truth about her life, and her town.

This is a good start to a new series. A short read, but a lot happens and it holds your interest. The characters are fun to read, and I always love a talking pet - especially a sassy one! I hope there'll be a book two, I would love to read more.

Story moved along quickly and easily. I like witches, it adds a fun element to the story. Some characters are in a developmental stage of relationship. They aren’t really showcased but I think moving forward will help fill them out. The focus was more on the main character which did feel more put together.

It started off fun and then the cliches just got to be too much and annoying. The whole mystery was dumb and had no stakes. The whole town started off interesting but then the plot just moved unnecessarily fast so there was barely any motivated character development or relationship development. It just became one cliché after another and a poorly described magic system.

A book Can be cliché and not the most descriptive but it has to be fun. And it wasn’t fun in the end, it was just kind of like wtf

I flew through this in a day thinking this would be a good brain reset but it was really just mid and the world building sucked

I have been provided with a copy of There’s a New Witch in Town by the author for an impartial review. This is the first book in the brand-new The Holiday Hills Witch Cozy Mystery series and this was just a fantastic way to start off a new series. I was immediately drawn into this world with this amazing storyline and it’s amazing characters. I just had so much fun reading this story and I just couldn’t help but fall in love with all of the characters. I was just so sad to turn the last page. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
