Started off flow and somewhere towards the half way mark picked up pace and became more interesting

The initial section of Harker's journal was absolutely brilliant. Much of the rest is suitably chilling and very atmospheric. However the plot is impressively drawn-out - I suspect people aren't missing out on much by reading abridged versions. Luckily I was able to find it comedic (we'll hunt the vampire tomorrow! Maybe the day after... OK, the day after that) rather than too frustrating, but the pacing does feel fairly stuck in the mud for most of the latter half.

She is the blueprint!

I've consumed a lot of modern vampire fiction in my life. The lore is different in every single one. It is so awesome to read one of the first popular vampire stories, and compare what has remained consistent over time and what hasn't.

I adore the way Dracula is formatted as a collection of journals and newspaper clippings; it makes it feel so much more real.

Good to read a classic. Well structured and the final pursuit remains suspense.

I was surprised to learn that Dracula is not simply the discovery of a vampire living in Transylvania, but more an attempt of that vampire to overtake London. The diary style was a simple format to read and did make the book engaging. It is a classic worth reading.
