Amazing. Excited to read Hannibal and Hannibal Rising after that. Thomas Harris is actually a genius in my opinion.
Graphic: Murder
Minor: Transphobia
I can imagine someone having a hard time with some of the transgender talk, but Thomas Harris (for the time) does a good job of debunking the bigoted ideas that transgenderism is linked with criminal activity. I've read a few other reviews talking about Harris being transphobic and it really does come across that he is actually supportive of gender-affirming surgery and acceptance. A product of its time? Sure. But intentionally cruel or bigoted? Absolutely not.
