I liked the beginning and end but the middle dragged a bit for me. Glad I stuck with it and finished.

Just nope. So many issues with what the author writes, and no redeaming factors.

This felt like a hug.
Very relatable and reminded me that we can change our lives at any age.
Also like how it focused on older women who were fun and sexual and still figuring out life.

Thanks to Crown Publishing and Netgalley for an advance reader's copy of this upcoming release.
DNF at 28%.
Author Terry McMillan is certainly a fantastic reporter of the harsh realities that women often face; I have long enjoyed her characters, and especially those of Waiting to Exhale and How Stella Got Her Groove Back. Unfortunately, I was not able to connect to the characters in her newest novel quite as well and had a difficult time picking it back up to continue.
As is usual for McMillan, the novel is filled with humor, wit, intelligence and strong females; I think that, for me, the fact that this one does not include a wide-ranging age group of women and, more specifically, women who are at different stages in their lives, made this one difficult for me to connect with right now.

Years ago I read several Terry McMillan books. I've seen the movies. This one just didn't do it for me. I didn't like the language or the constant references to sex. Maybe I've changed but it just didn't appeal to me and the story didn't seem to move. I was listening to the audiobook and was bored enough to switch to the radio.

Now, I usually don't read romances. When I do, less than half probably appeal to me. So a book club I'm in picked this book, and because I always read the book, I read the book.
I loved it.
Maybe it's because the protagonist is about my age, married more than once, and a bit jaded about romance. Whatever it was, I found myself laughing and smiling along through all of Georgia's journey. I could relate.
