A fitting sequel to Rise fo the Darklings. I am unsure of a sequel but I suspect there will be as some questions are left unanswered.

My overall thoughts:
1. This novel follows a young brother and sister as they go back in time to fight to save London from The Fire King. London has being over run with paranormal beings and it is up to them to keep evil at bay whilst fighting to get back to their own time.
2. One reason I am really enjoying this series is because Paul Crilley doesn't dumb down his writing for his young audience. I feel I can enjoy it as much as any 12 year old would and I think that's a brilliant quality to have in a writing style.
3. I did find some of the characters a little annoying in this novel but that was very minimal and in the end I did enjoy all of the characters and their editions to the story line. There were odd occasions where the plot was quite predictable and I guessed what was coming but I expected as much after reading the first in the series.
4. I would recommend this novel to any who have read the first in the series and would suggest picking up the first if you like adventure filled/fantasy/action novels!
