I have read all of the books in this series. This is one of the few books I didn’t laugh aloud and found myself forcing to read. I almost felt obligated. Not my favorite of the series.

Love this series.
Can’t wait to read the next book. Grandma and Lula are my favorite characters. Once I picked this up it was hard to put down.

These books have grown a bit tired. I still enjoyed the quick read, but this one didn't make me laugh out loud (literally) like earlier books in the series have.

“We wouldn’t want the shit we do to not be epic,” I said. “Hell no. Ordinary shit is just shit.”
“I’ll go first,” Grandma said, taking the Maglite and forging ahead. “I’m already too old to die young.”
“My mother looked like she was trying to decide between booze or Xanax. I understood her dilemma. Her thankless job was to be the voice of reason and maturity in a family of oddballs. My father keeps his head down and wills himself to be invisible, occasionally barking for more hot gravy at the dinner table. My sister Valerie is married to a very sweet man who seems to be incompetent at everything other than keeping her pregnant. And then there’s me and Grandma with Superhero Derangement Syndrome.”
We pick up right where we left off in 26; still lookin for the La-Z-Boys that kidnapped Grandma Mazur and Stephanie. And now we’re hunting for the treasure while also trying to not be kidnapped again or killed. Not to worry though, because one of Stephanie’s FTAs (who shat in the deli…) has vowed to be her bodyguard. Never mind the fact that Stephanie and Ranger have to rescue him later on. Who by the way isn’t the only person kidnapped. Oh, and there are definitely some car victims in here.
I missed how or when Stephanie and Morelli broke up this time, but I can tell you right now that Ranger sure didn’t 😉
