The narrative of this book is overly descriptive in a really repetitive fashion and doesn’t never goes anywhere that captures your attention. Besides a couple of quotes that resonate it’s forgetful.

This has to be one of the most beautifully written books I have ever had the pleasure to read. I came for the Ghanaian rep and stayed for the characters, the emotion, everything. It explores some heavy themed so definitely not a light read, but so painfully beautiful! The familiarity of names, places and experiences puts this on another level.

At first I was hesitant because of the second person narration but that was not an issue at all, it’s intentional and impactful. 💗

This book made me want to read every single sentence, word for word, and I’m usually a skimmer. The writing style is simply beautiful. It doesn’t seem forced, it just flows. I felt the pain, the joy, the love, the confusion and the emotion behind the words. What an incredible debut novel!

Definitely some of the best, most powerful and beautiful writing I’ve ever read. Every word serves a purpose, drives the characters and tells a story, adds its own meaning. An absolute masterpiece.
