I did enjoy this book much better than the first one because I thought the pacing was much better balanced--the mystery and history were more evenly distributed throughout the book. I enjoyed learning more about Maisie and Billy as well as the historical aspects of the scars of WW1 on people and nations. I still feel like Maisie's character is a little too good to be true, but when I finished the audiobook, I definitely would be interested in continuing the series!
Moderate: Death and Grief
Minor: Addiction and Suicide
