I do understand why some people would love this (I guess), I truly hated the experience of reading this novel. I found the characters to feel performative and hollow, and I truly was not able to get anything beneficial out of reading this novel.

This was for sure interesting at the end but most of it happened at the end. Basically lennie forgets things and he accidentally hurts people, that’s like the first 70 pages. After that it gets better though. Since it was written a long time ago and during the Great Depression, it does use words that we have now deemed as racial slurs and hateful language. Also the poor dog dies.

Classical novel. It was rather boring to me although it is thought intriguing and sad. I just knew what was coming. Very short though.
