When I selected this book I didn't know it was the third in a series it just sounded good to me.
I normally don't read Christian romance for a few different reasons. This story worked for me, the religion worked with the story and made it feel complete.
This was a great look at Colonial America, a time period I feel gets over looked in romance writing. The romance of Lily and John was sweet and it almost faded into the background. I found myself really drawn into the story of survival and the building of a foundation and community.
The writing was great and I got pulled into the story. This is a book I would really recommend if you want a good but light historical fiction to read. I am going to go back and read the first two.
