This one had its ups and downs. It was rather boring for a while there but the last few pages were exciting because Magnus was in action! Seeing him go from breaking the law by selling alcohol to kicking warlock butt was amusing. But this story just wasn't exciting enough for me.

Magnus and Camille will always have a connection that no one can deny and I like it

Well definitely more action, its interesting to meet a warlock older than Shadowhunters. And I was happy to see that Camille is still keeping an eye of him by Dolly.

The writing still feels forced and I expected so much more from this book..

The plot of this novella was alright, but the setting is what really made this one enjoyable for me. New York City during the 1920s is such a fun setting.

This is probably the best out of all of the parts of the Bane Chronicles that I've read so far. It was juicy and it had actual connection to the books that follow. I also appreciated the fact that it was very far away from Magnus' love life and the drama that follows. Plus, it was interesting to learn about how Hotel Dumort became the place that it is in the Mortal Instruments. I have the suspicion that the stories that Clare writes with Sarah Rees Brennan are not as interesting to me, whereas this one was written with another author, who's personal works I haven't read though.

Questa mi è piaciuta leggermente di meno rispetto alle altre, anche se è molto interessante vedere come i vampiri si siano appropriati dell'hotel Dumort ;).
