Alice herself has always been closer to a four-star read for me, due to the abrupt ending and the fact that the sequel is so much better. But this version by illustrator Ingpen is so lovely than it is a joy to read. There is illustration on almost every page, and not too many words in certain places, meaning the image you are seeing corresponds to what you are reading, as opposed to a color plate being inserted four pages before the text refers to it. A stunning book, and a keeper for any home's shelves.

I get it. The children's book, it's whimsical, but it's just goes from scene to scene. Also, the whole time was thinking how Lewis had a werid case.

All the time i was reading I kept wondering where did all the magic go. It definitely wasn't as bright and colorful as i remember it. I don't get how this edition is supposed to be a children's classic. Maybe if the kid is on acid?
