Book 3 in the Wicked Years is an oddball. It’s important to the readers in that it answers some lingering questions and fills in some gaps, but it doesn’t do a whole lot to advance the plot. We see events that have already happened from different perspectives, and we do get a small amount of plot in advancing the conflict between Munchkinland and the Emerald City, but overall, this really felt like it could have been a novella. It’s not my favourite, but it does have a very cool ending that deepens the overall mythology in interesting ways, so I’ll give it that.

Love this series. I liked this one because it explained a lot of things like who exactly was Yackle and where did she come from? If I didn't have such a long "to read" list I'd re-read it now.

I was disappointed. This wasn't nearly as good as the first two books in the series.

I didn't enjoy this as much as the first two books. Fingers crossed the final book is better.

I didn't like this one quite as much as I liked 'Son of a Witch' but it was still good! I'm eager to read the last one and hopefully Liir and Nor and Trism have a main role!

An interesting continuation to the saga. Although the whole series has been weird, things started to get a little extra weird here, but I had to see it through. Some of the connections between characters just started to be a little too convenient I thought.
