Light hearted, predictable but just what I needed this week. Scottish accent on audiobook was enjoyable.

An entertaining girly read to listen to while pottering about the house. Loved the Scottish setting, village life and kind warm characters.

3.5 stars. A lighthearted read, set in a Scottish Manor, brimming with mentions of baked goodies that had my tummy rumbling.
The charming elderly laird, Hugo, leaves a surprise in his will for protagonist Lara, helping her pursue her dream of baking.
A cast of colourful characters including numerous delightful sounding cakes, and a brooding sculptor, Vaughan.
There were some nice little tie ins at the end which gave me a smile.
