I've been trying to figure out what it is about this book that drove me nuts (other than the main character being a brat to everyone around her always) and I finally figured it out.
The family has owned this bookstore for years. Several generations amount of years. And it never occured to them to have events or to have a functioning inventory system. Their employees just sit in their phones the entire shift. I think we have found the reason your bookstore is failing.

This was such an enjoyable read, I loved the set up, and loved these two!

I liked the story although I realised I prefer my main characters to be adults but at least I know now. I had few annoyances with some of the characters but overall still liked it and was really an enjoyable, quick read🤗

2.5 stars. You’ve Got Mail in YA, what could go wrong? Apparently a lot. There was a major lack of cohesion. Lots of plot elements going on and switching courses so much I didn’t know what I was supposed to care about. The dialogue was very cringe and unrealistic, and the characters were very flat, explained in quirky habits without having much agency for most of the book. They also went from pranks and real rage to a serious accident to being a couple but “oh, we can’t be a couple” when they definitely could be. Just weird flow and problems that shouldn’t have been.
