This was a great closer to Maya Angelou's autobiographical series. I started reading this in high school and have been obsessed with her work since. Angelou has such a way with her words, she pulls you into her story, her life, like you're there. She knows exactly how to evoke what emotions and when to hit you with 'plot twists'-- it's autobiographical, so I'm not sure if plot twist is the right word, more like major turns in her life that the reader doesn't expect. I didn't give this book a 5 because I felt like this addition to her series, although a great finish, was a lot slower in pace and felt like the content was stretched/prolonged at times. That's really my only critique-- it's also hard because there 6 other books preceding this one to compare to, which is really where the harsher critique comes from. I love Angelou's work, anything she has written I will pick up without hesitation. If you've enjoyed any of her other autobiographies, I really recommend you finish them off with this!
