Incredibly violent. If I had known prior to picking this up how violent it was going to be I wouldn't have gotten it. I'm not a squeamish person, but this book made me very uncomfortable

A female mid life bookclub challenge vampire, all husband's don't support them, children and people living experiencing poverty were more at risk. A fantastic story, enjoyed yhe audio reader, she brought the characters to life.

Début assez lent, avec une histoire qui s'installe tranquillement, petit à petit. J'avoue avoir failli décrocher dans les premières pages.  Pour un livre du spooky, le spooky se faisait attendre un peu trop à mon goût. 

Malgré tout, quand l'action débute (enfin) j'ai été happée par le déroulement de l'histoire et j'ai apprécié ma lecture. Les scènes gore sont au rendez-vous, sans toutefois être trop présentes. 

Je dois quand même dire qu'après cette lecture, une question demeure : qu'est-ce qui était plus effrayant dans ce livre, les descriptions graphiques et le personnage de Harris ou la façon dont les personnages féminins sont traités par leur homologue masculins tout au long du roman...
