"I don't now where to begin. Bu one fine summer's day, as I understood it, Camilla and Lisbeth were both sitting in their bedroom. The door was locked."

I don't know what I expected from this one. I was honestly nervous to start - because I'd loved the first three books and I wasn't sure I'd love the fourth.

And I must admit, something was definitely missing. The plot was full of characters and just as convoluted and full of government twists and espionage. It also had some of Lisbeth and tied some of the loose ends of her childhood and how it might play out to affect her as an adult. But I didn't like Lisbeth's personality in this one - she was rarely in the book and when she was, she just seemed....not the Lisbeth Salander I remembered. It left me a little homesick for the girl I'd loved through the first three books. But it's still an interesting story, and I did as an audio book, so I thoroughly enjoyed the narrator as always.

BEST book of 2015!
A credit to Stieg Larsson - 5*

There has been doubts and scepticism over David Lagercrantz's writing; there has also been doubts over his ability to take over the Millennium series and their prestigious characters. From reading it, however, I can tell you that these doubts and preconceptions are wrong and totally should not be thought of because David Lagercrantz is a genius.

To take on Stieg Larsson's writing is a tremendous task but this unknown author (to myself and probably many others) was definitely up for it. He captured Salander's essence perfectly and Blomkvist was perfect - I continue to love my strong, determined journalist.

I hope for a 5th novel in this enchanting series - there are so many unanswered questions????? I need a new one, please, please, please!!!!

Not nearly as exciting as the trilogy in any way. The ending left me cold though the introduction of Salander's sister, Camilla, could lead to some interesting battles between the two of them for future books. Regardless I was pretty disappointed due to high expectations.

I had a feeling early on that Thanos was Lisbeth's sister so the reveal wasn't a surprise. Still good, though. I was amused at all the talk about Thanos and the Wasp and all the other Marvel-related characters because of course we had The Avengers and Ant-Man and the Wasp come out this year.

Really excited for the movie adaptation. I was picturing Claire Foy as Lisbeth while reading this book and I can't wait to see how her Lisbeth differs from Rooney's and Noomi's versions.

This book felt like it was started by Stieg and rushed by Lagercrantz. It was frustrating because I was expecting so much more and it just felt like Lagercrantz was trying to jam way too much into this book. Stieg was way more strategic in how he developed the story and he took his time doing so. Lagercrantz just isn't at that level. Unfortunately, I have a compulsive need to read every book in a series so I will find a way to read the next one but I'm not expecting much.

I did not finish this, so I will not rate it. I read about 25%, but I felt like not much was happening, or maybe I've just lost interest in the series. I'm trying to put down books more when I'm not enjoying them, so this was the latest. Oh well!

3.5 stars. I enjoyed it but it's nothing like the first three!
