It took me sooo long to read this book, I was in such a reading slump for so long. This book was just, everything. Every emotion in me exploded and I actually spilled tears reading. An ending that still leaves you with so many questions, pain and yet also relief. Those characters will always have a special place in my heart. Always. All of them. And the way they go through so much pain and yet stay themself while growing just makes you soft.

And the amount of tabs I have in this book, unbelievable

A great sequel to Six of Crows. There were surprises, and lots of emotional growth. And their madcap schemes weren't without consequences.

Still had a bit of trouble with the ages of the protagonists being so young; it particularly made it hard to ship a certain couple.

Mostly listened to the audiobook version of this.

this book took me a bit longer to read. not because I didn’t enjoy it, but because I didn’t want it to end.

this is a truly incredible book. I don’t think I have the right amount words to describe it- if there even is such words. everything about it was crafted so beautifully. I fell in love with the characters even more. I fell in love with the world even more. I fell in love with the story even more. Everything, I loved even more. I didn’t think that was even possible, honestly.

this book as well as six of crows has brought me so much comfort in rough times. It has offered me an escape when things in life sometimes aren’t so great. I find myself feeling inspired by the characters and the story. When I read this duology, I felt something come alive inside of me that I haven’t felt for a long time. It was an excitement. It was the excitement of discovering a new world, learning about that world, and being in that world. It was the excitement of rooting for the characters, such as wylan and jesper. It was the general excitement of reading again, which I didn’t have for awhile. I didn’t realize how much I missed the feeling.

I love this book, and I will always hold it close to my heart. It is a book I will probably re read quite a few times- in hopes of being in that world once again.

Overall, a truly wonderful book. I’m excited to read king of scars !!

also, I simply will never forgive Leigh Bardugo for chapter 40. I don’t think I have ever sobbed more.
