I like this book more than the prior 2.

I feel like she found some of her slow romance, simple gestures falling in love vs the quick and tense love stories in the last book.

Happy ending for these characters & a happy ending for the series as a whole. Overall, it left me pleased.

Maren's wedding is called off by her fiancé, Oliver, just a few weeks before she's supposed to walk down the aisle with her terminally ill father. This has been his dream, to see her get married. She adores her father and, at this point, she really doesn't care who the groom is. So when she arrives at the resort where the wedding is supposed to take place, luck sends a second Oliver her way. He's her college friend, her best friend's ex, and also happens to be one of the owners of The Firefly. She then comes up with this cockamamie idea to propose to him so that she can indeed marry an Oliver (no one has met the original Oliver) and make her dying dad's wishes come true. On his side of things, Oliver is kind of in a pickle - he booked the wedding without the resort being ready and if they cancel, he's not sure they can take the financial hit. After being yelled at by his twin sister, he  says yes.
To keep up with the pretense they head off to the honeymoon suite after the wedding and then to the actual honeymoon and soon they realize that maybe being married to each other isn't such a bad idea after all.
Oliver was hands down my favorite Parkerson. He's fun, sarcastic, but he also has the biggest of hearts. He uses his personality to hide the feeling fo always having been "the second choice", the "replaceable one". He was engaged twice before (including to Maren's best friend Devney) and then rejected, so he vowed to never be in that position again. It will take sweet and sassy Maren everything to convince him that he is indeed her "first choice". It is a little instalove-y and definitely instalust-y, but you accept it as they have known each other since college.
The book is peppered with references to Corinne's Salvation series (Maren works for Cole Security, for example), her Arrowood series (Devney left Oliver for Sean Arrowood) and we get cameos of a lot of characters, so you will undoubtedly have more fun if you read those books first.
This is my favorite of the four. Even though Corinne throws her usual curveball (and I confess I saw that one coming a mile away), it is still fun and lighthearted enough to give you a few laughs here and there because Oliver is just plain adorable in his snarky self.
The audiobook is narrated by Vanessa Edwin (her male voices are scary good!!!) and Zachary Webber, who delivers a perfect Oliver. Duh.
Don't miss the bonus scene at the end of the audiobook! You will be taken quite a few years into the future. Amazing ending for a wonderful series!
Possible Triggers: death of a parent due to cancer, toxic relationship with a step-parent, cancer diagnosis, infertility issues

I loved Oliver. I loved Maren. I loved their story and how they fell in love. Even the sad parts with Maren's dad were somehow sweet and endearing. I probably would have rated this one higher, but it left me with melancholy for some reason. Maybe the sad stuff was too much for me at this time. I don't know. It was a good book and a great story for Oliver (and Maren).
