A fun book to introduce kids to the Big Apple. I even learned how Wall Street got its name.

Pretty cute, hits on Chicago's main tourist attractions as Larry the dog gets lost then re-united with his boy. And no ketchup on hotdogs!! The way it should be.

There are some really cute illustrations in this, and I enjoyed our tour of New York. I hate to see any little dog get lost, and his travels were a bit unrealistic - several of the sites were presented in such a way as to make them seem like they're right next to each other, when in fact they're across the island. Not that spacial accuracy is what this book is going for, but it was one comment I had. I did like that the little boy found the dog in the end, but I wish the story could be told without the dog getting lost to begin with. It might be a plot point that disturbs more sensitive children.

I saw this while in Philadelphia and checked it out later; having visited the city several times, I felt like this does a good job of hitting the highlights; it was pretty much most of the places I've visited as a tourist! I loved the blend of colors in the illustrations. I did not realize that this was part of a series. A teacher/librarian could have students write a similar book about their own city or town.

I wanted to read more picture books to support my local library’s literacy program. This book was cute but so much was missing. No mention of Obama, Ida B. Wells, or Oprah. Oprah!!! Not even Oprah?! Like really? I know this book is old but it’s not that old lol. Let’s do better

Larry gets lost in Philadelphia is packed with colorful illustrations, history and simple facts. It is an adventurous story that will surely grab the attention of children and adults while teaching them about the birthplace of freedom and liberty.

For someone who loves Washington D.C. as much as I do, this book spoke to me. The underlying tale of the pup getting lost in the city was cute, but overwhelmingly secondary to the tidbits about the many wonderful sights and locations in the nation's capital. The illustrations are a treat as well, as they are modern and colorful like watching a fast-paced kids documentary. The book stirred up a potent desire in me to visit D.C. again.

Cute and informative. I read it to my 7-year-old. She liked the rhyme and the story, but couldn't care less about the factual bits.

Cute book! I loved the fun facts about Texas, and even learned things about my own city. Still, I wish there was more of a story. I love Larry, so I wish I could have read more about his personal experiences.
