A thoughtful commentary on such societal issues as transphobia, colonialism, and white supremacy, the Fae Keeper keeps the pace of its predecessor, moving from big moment to the next. Ultimately the climax is surprising and haunting. The battles from the first book are not made light of, and are dealt with careful consideration.  Adventurous, while not making war seem glorious, and simultaneously makes fights for social issues worthy. The characters are witty, diverse, and their relationships grow more complex. Overall a fun read, while at times dark and gruesome.

This book. Holy fucking shit.
This book made me feel bonkers but also made me feel seen. I absolutely love this book. The characters, the REPRESENTATION! THE NARRATORS.

This book is filled with darkness but at the same time there is constant humor and jokes, and just absolutely brilliant. I just can't. I don't know if I will be able to write a review to do this justice - but yeah. I am going out tomorrow to hopefully purchase a physical copy.

So far the best duology I've ever read. (sorry six of crows, you're a close second) My absolute favourite thing was that we learn the world building and magic system in The Witch King and get familiar with it and then in the next book it's just...well that was all a lie, nothing you know was ever true!
It makes you feel just like the people in this world, like truly getting sucked into it. And I love a snarky narrator, we need more Wyatt Crofts as main characters, what a delight that boy is.
