3,5. tenia moltes ganes de llegir-lo. l’he gaudit, però algunes parts se’m han fet llargues, i això ha fet q el llibre em durés més del q hagués volgut. les tres parts q estàn clarament dividides, la primera part la meva preferida. la tercera també m’ha agradat molt. la del mig se’m va fer una mica pesada. per fi he llegit algu d l’ian mc ewan, i estic contenta d haver començat per aquí.

Inizierò con un'osservazione politicamente scorretta. Ho notato che le ragazze amano questo libro. Quasi tutte intendo: dando un'occhiata alle varie recensioni, le ragazze producono valutazioni da cinque stelle con una grande facilità. I ragazzi trovano invece questo libro meno "speciale". E' per questo che ho maturato la convinzione che questo sia un libro un po' femminile, vuoi di proposito, vuoi per caso, ma insomma che io non sia il target più adatto per questo libro.

Ad ogni modo si possono dare 3 stelle valutando un libro per due motivi: perché alla fine del libro dici "che bella idea! Peccato sia stata sviluppata così male! Bisognerebbe riscriverlo! O farne un film... Etc.", oppure perché alla fine del libro dici "bah.". Ecco, io alla fine del libro ho detto "bah".
Per carità, la narrazione così particolare è molto intrigante... L'analisi psicologica dei protagonisti è magistrale... Ma insomma, secondo me McEwan ci ha un pochino fregati, tutto sommato questo libro sa di poco. E poi non voglio dire che questo libro sia lento ma... questo libro è davvero lento!
Insomma, forse McEwan non ha fregato nessuno, ma molto probabilmente non fa per me.

One of my favorite books. A child's imagination gets the better of her, and changes the course of a dozen lives forever. Amazing writing, and a knockout sucker punch of an ending. This is my second time reading the book, and I loved it as much this time.

Nonostante all'inizio abbia trovato il romanzo un po' lento, mi sono ricreduta non appena ho cominciato la seconda parte. Da quel momento ho provato una lunga serie di emozioni che andavano dalla compassione all'odio, dalla comprensione alla rabbia. È strano rendersi conto di quanto un semplice errore possa rovinarea vita di qualcuno. Tuttavia, non me la sono sentita di prendermela troppo con Briony, ma in fondo penso che lo scopo dello scrittore fosse anche quello di permettere a chi legge di immedesimarsi in un personaggio che, seppur in modo in modo innocente, ha causato tanta sofferenza.

I stopped reading +/- p. 120. By then the plot disinterested me so much that I didn't feel the need anymore to continue. Beautifully written, interesting characterisations, and narratological complexity is on point! ... but too many parts are just not my jam.

Did watch the movie ... which I liked a lot!
