This was an eye-opening, thought-provoking memoir that I think everyone, especially those who are not fat, should read. Roxane Gay is a master of writing.

Puts many uncomfortable feelings I’ve had about women’s bodies and weight into words. I  enjoyed her not shying away from the “shameful “ thoughts about fatness and bodies.

I had picked this up because I have gained weight and was starting to hate myself for it. This book felt like a salve. I realize now I was unconsciously expecting weight loss inspiration, and this book gave me something else, something less….stuck to old systems that weren’t working for me, though I can’t say what yet.
