slow-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? It's complicated

Not Worth a Read

This is the worst book written by Lauren Weisberger. It was nothing near the brilliance of the devil wears Prada the entire story led up to something and then in the last two chapters and completely changed. I'm really disappointed because Devil wears Prada was one of my favorite books and when you have something that great and then you follow it up with something that is less than mediocre it's really disappointing. Don't waste your time with this book it'll just ruin the predecessor.

Since I went in with the expectation of it being a mindless read, I wasn't really disappointed. However, it was definitely average...at best.

Voorpelbaar! Toch uitgelezen. Om er achter te komen dat het einde zo was als wat zich al veel eerder openbaarde. En ik blijf de beschrijvende schrijfstijl van Weisberger leuk vinden.

Fluff, but not on a par with the previous books. Quick read.

I was surprisingly disappointed with this novel. The story did not flow well from the first book, and it seemed as if Miranda was just thrown in to connect the story. Overall, the storyline was quite boring and annoying. This wasn't a bad novel by any means just a disappointment compared to the original. Somethings do not need a sequel.

It says a lot that I kept never finishing this book even though I had checked it out digitally probably three times previous. But, I found myself in a lull and decided I was interested enough to see how this all played out. Let me just say - this is probably the dumbest book of this author's. There wasn't anything fun - the characters were so so so flat and it is as if the author didn't think it necessary to provide a personality to any male whatsoever. Even the protagonist, Andy, was uber annoying - just talk to your husband! Stop having all these weird secrets and never talking! It was just weird. Anyway - don't bother.
