This is the third book in the Orion's Order series and follows Deacon and Starr. While it might follow them it doesn't mean that we don't get to 'see' other characters from the series that we all know and love. This being said I do recommend reading this series in order. This continues to build an incredible world, develop amazing and lovable characters and an exciting plot. The story provides a heck of a emotional rollercoaster along with heated steam. Starr might not be my favorite character from Orion's Order but I still enjoyed her story.

This review is long overdue, between book slumps and my own mental health, I’ve found it harder this year to read as much as I usually do, so despite been given an ARC of this I wasn’t able to read this in time, as I didn’t want to force through it and affect my review, that wouldn’t have been fair to Marina.

Anyway I have to be completely honest as what’s a review without that, I have loved the previous two books so much, especially as Rhyker’s Key was about half of my favourite twins. I admit although I was looking forward to this (because I needed resolution from a certain incident in the previous book!) I was not looking forward to a book based on Deacon completely, he’s probably my least favourite character of the order and friends if I put them in any kind of order, doesn’t mean I don’t like him, I just wasn’t as invested in his character, but then we get to meet Starr !

I mean, I know we’ve met Starr previously, but we got to know the whole incredible woman here and I absolutely love her so much, I mean I love Caly , Aleia and Keena, but man I think she’s my favourite female now (although I reckon Jeid is gonna be badass too when we learn even more about her and I am so hoping she maybe intended for someone in the order but that might be just me) There was action, mystery, drama, tension and lots of romance. I got my resolution I needed so badly (want to know what it is you’re going to have to read Calypso’s Heart and Rhyker’s Key then come back here, cos you know you need to)

Deacon is still at the end of my list of favourites in this series, but that’s just personal taste, how we all have favourite characters or book boyfriends, it’s not personal or anything with the beautiful writing or character development, I did like him more by the end of the book, but for me Starr definitely outshined him and stole my heart too.

If you have read the first two books you’ll really want to read this and regret it if you don’t, trust me. If you haven’t read the previous books, you love PNR, strong women, sexy men who support strong women and whole lot of plot and action, drama and intrigue (and of course romance) then you need to read this series.

So thank you to the author MC Solaris who gifted me with a copy of this, for the book and for your patience, all opinions here are my own and freely given.

This is not a stand alone series. I devoured books 1 & 2 and was so thankful to receive an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Orion's Order is feeling the loss of their Vamp Nico, it always seems to be the elephant in the room, everyone misses him, some more than others. However, they still have a job to do while they continue their search for Nico.

While on a hunt they encounter Starr, the lone Bounty hunter that makes their resident tech steorian's heart pump harder and his mind fail to focus on anything but the sexy fire elemental. As the attack ends Deacon takes Starr into the woods, pours his heart out and gets her to try and work on their relationship.

Starr is an orphan, who has had a string of bad relationships that have left her with severe abandonment and trust issues when it comes to the opposite sex. With the help of her best friend and Seer she attempts to do this relationship thing with Deacon and hopes that she doesn't lose herself in the process.

Deacon knows he's in love with Starr, has known it since he first laid eyes on her but breaking down her walls is going to take all his patience and love. He also knows that she is fiercely independent and loves her job as a hunter so he has to figure out how to quell his burning need to protect her with her need to hunt.

This is a great series. Much more than just a paranormal romance, there is an actual story here with characters you learn to love, characters you hate and a bond that shows that family isn't always blood related. So many layers to these books that it brings out all the feels. Can't wait to read the next one.

I'll admit, I was not excited for this story, but it turned out so much better than I expected. Unlike book 2, this story wraps itself in a decent packaged. The series arch still has holes, but the character's stories feel closed.

*I received an ARC from the author. My review is my own.

She's thick ya'll! But don't let that scare you off. Deacon's Star had the same sexiness and romance as the other books in the Orion’s Order series.

This time though, our main focus is on all around badass Star and sweet, glasses wearing Deacon.

Their relationship pulled on my heartstrings so many freaking times.
