I may come back to this book just to prove to myself that my academic writing is at least better than this. The takes are so so cold and it’s verrryyy loosely about disease. It’s basically my intro to archaeology textbook with some « eh, they had some diseases ». I.e., E.g., and vis a vis should be used sparingly, not 5 times in 3 pages and definitely not when less words would suffice and make everything a ton clearer.

I listened to the audiobook - I found it went pretty quickly, but I cannot tell you what I listened to beyond lots of diseases being carried over by colonists. Just don't feel like I got very much out of it, which is a bit disappointing. Felt rushed and just glossed over a lot of detail, which wasn't what I expected.
