Pretty good but the ending dragged on a bit with two kidnapping-esque instances happening one after the other.
Before that though, I enjoyed it immensely. I like the character interactions. It's not a comedy, but there are light-hearted moments.
I knew how some things were going to turn out, but I couldn't figure out how they would explain it, so it was satisfying in the end when identities were revealed.

I'm having a hard time rating this book, but I feel like it's good for what it is - a fantasy romance.
This is a plot heavy romance with decent world building, interesting conflict and a clear plot to drive the story forward. I enjoyed the world, the characters and the relationship dynamic. It's toxic and possessive of course, but I kinda love it.
I would probably call this a medium burn, and found myself really enjoying the tension and banter in the start of the book. The story works well as a stand-alone, but I will pick up the sequel to see where this goes!
I must say - I found the author overplayed the sexual abuse storyline. It's very graphic and we keep coming back to it again and again.
