I’m starting to get bored because the story feels like it’s dragging now. I’m not sure what happened but the story and plot just seem to go in circles now.

So Good

Book 6 and I’m still loving this series. Rory is an amazing FMC and the guys are finally all in with her. There have been quite a few plot twists that I hadn’t seen coming.

This morning, when I picked up this book, I had this really strange feeling. I wanted to know what was gonna happen. I was excited to read more about Rory and her guys, about their adventures and their blossoming relationship. But I'm also slowly growing scared. I'm nearing the end of the series and the main plot is getting more and more dominant. For some reason I've grown so attached to the characters that I'm starting to get a little scared of what is gonna happen to them this time.

And rightly so. In the first chapter Chase literally places a bomb under one of the most solid relationships within the pentacle. I think I was just as shocked as Rory was, although we did have a little more information and I already feared something terrible had happened to Connor. I didn't need long to guess what the mini-arc of this book was gonna be. At least, I hoped so. I didn't wanna think of Connor being in this state for longer than one book!

However, the task of finding a way to get Connor to become his old self again wasn't as huge as the tasks in the previous books, but all the more was happening in the main storyline. Rory is getting more and more involved in the politics and it's a lot of fun to see her scheming and planning and trying to play the game. I die about a million times when reading it, terrified that something terrible is gonna happen to her, but she's holding up somehow okay.

With this series Eva Chase has once again written an amazing story though. Everything about it works. The relationships, the politics, the world building, the mystery, the smaller arcs combined with the big arc and, most of all, the characters. During the first book I never thought I'd care this much about the guys. But it happened. I started caring about them. A lot. And with even more nervousness and fear I will read the next, pre-last, book in the series next week.
