The first half of this book was slow and irritating, and I found myself frustrated with all the characters and their interactions. Half way through both Feyra and Tamlin get a personality transplant, and the second half (especially the last quarter) is a much more compelling read.

I had heard about the book on TT as being a fairy smut novel, but this turned out to be a great disappointment. Not only for the laxk of smut, but it was an almost copy of The beauty and the beast (but fairy edition). I’m not a huge fan of fairies so if you don’t come into it with an adoration already, save some time and pick up another book

Listen....I don't know why this book interested me as much as it did. Like I was FULLY invested in Feyre and the fae boys. Also quite a bit darker and super gruesome towards the back half. I'm intrigued though to say the least...

This book got me on a chokehold plot twist after plot twist. It was a bit slow for me at first but the second half??? Gut wrenching. Absolutely cannot wait to read the next one.

horrifically bad. the characters are nonsensical, the pacing is awful, the romance is laughable, the "sexy" scenes are LAUGHABY BAD. the action scenes are fun. don't read this if you want to engage with anything in a meaningful way. this should've stayed in the drafts for at least three more iterations.

I first read this book in May 2015, around the time it first came out. I then read the rest of the trilogy as those were releasing. Never read the novella and beyond.

I remember this installment being the worst (to me), and that still holds true in 2025. I just do not like Feyre in this story. She irritates the everloving piss out of me.
