The world, the story, the cast of characters; I'm completely hooked. Everyone has layers, everything has a reason. Without them, I don't know if I could have finished the book. In fact, I think the lack of Tamlin in the last nearly 200 pages may have been why the book went so much better for that part.
Tamlin is a male lead I feel like we're meant to like enough, but not love. The ways Lucien and Rhysand are described and characterized make them much more likable and interesting; the most interesting thing about Tamlin is his mask and position. (Yes, he's kind and not human-hating, but that's a decently low bar for a romantic lead.)
Graphic: Violence
Moderate: Confinement, Death, Sexual content, Blood, Death of parent, Alcohol, Dysphoria, and Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Emotional abuse, Gore, Infidelity, Torture, and Grief
