Muito assustador mergulhar na mente de um psicopata, personagem central deste livro. É de arrepiar. Ui.

I’m not really entirely sure what I just read.
This book is trying to be revolutionary. This is due to the political points it sporadically brings up, its non generic writing style and its choice of themes (particularly the theme that arises in the final few pages). But what this mix of attempting to subvert so many norms does is create a disjointed book that is hard to read and follow. The political points are slightly contrived and seem forced.

I enjoyed the shock of the ending, and the last 50 pages brought the rating up. But, although it is meant to be a modern masterpiece, I did not enjoy it as much I was expecting to.

What a bizarre book. Really interesting, but quite strange.

An amazing read which I used for my English Literature coursework for A-Level. I found it very tense and interesting to read, as the protagonist Frank definitely has a weird view on our society and world. The metaphors and allegories surrounding Frank make this a good read, and the disturbing and disgusting metaphors in particular cleverly expose the flaws within our society. Please read this book! :)

Unsure about this one. A mix of American Psycho and The Catcher in the Rye.

I really enjoy books that are dark and sinister and this book is definitely those things but it is almost too visceral for me, it was so well written but to be placed in the mind of a psychopath was quite heavy at times and he was so cruel with a twisted almost chaotic madness that it left me quite confused at some of the plot points.  It also felt much longer to read than it actually was.

The end did allow me to feel sympathy for him though as he become a victim of sorts in someone else’s cruel game.

If you have the heart/stomach to get through this book, you'll have a lot to reflect on. Well-written in its psychotic madness but a real doozy to read due to its dark and complex themes.
