This was cute, I liked the last half of the book much more than the first; the shift from “this is fake” to “we’re in love” was missing some of the magic of some of the other fake-dating rom-coms I’ve read (specifically The Fake Out— I know the author has it in her!). But I did enjoy it, it was lighthearted and I found myself laughing out loud several times. Very steamy, would recommend as a fun read.

That Kind of Guy (Queen's Cove Book 1)
Rating : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved this book! It was such a quick, fun read. I honestly lost count of the number of times it had me laughing out loud. Stephanie Archer knows how to write the "fake dating" trope, and she absolutely hit the nail on the head with this one. I loved both the MC's. Avery Adams was so fiercely headstrong and independent, and underneath his handsome "Henry Cavill," good looks and cocky attitude, Emmett Rhodes was thoughtful, nurturing, and genuinely cared for others. Plus, I found his aversion to turtles extremely amusing! But them together...electric! I felt both characters were well written, and the plot was nicely paced. I also enjoyed that there was no third act breakup. Highly recommend this one!

Regarding the love story, it was great
it did fill like the problem was shoved at the end of the story so Avery’s solution also seem out of the blue, but since we were happy and in love we let it pass. Apart from that they were cute.

This book is adorable. Both characters are lovable and I found a few parts hysterical. The plot was a little predictable but if you’re in the mood for a lighthearted romantic book with some spice and some laughs this is perfect.

Bonus song: “Until I found you” by Stephen Sanchez

This was a cute, spicy, fluffy fake dating/engaged, small town, dual pov romance!! This did take a minute to grow on me, as I was getting to know the mmc who was a playboy/bachelor and could be kind of arrogant, but we see his soft sweet side come out as the book progresses. Like him wanting to become mayor for good reason, to help the town make the needed repairs to the electrical system to stop the power outages (especially because his best friends’s daughter is on dialysis)!!! At first, they were not quite enemies, but definitely antagonistic towards each other. I did like the banter between the two of them! The FMC was relatable, and I liked seeing her growth/development as well as the mmc’s. I’m just a sucker for a “he falls first and falls harder” plus fake dating!! I will say this book was a little fast, it could have been a tad less rushed, but that’s nit-picking.

I liked the small town aspect! The entire town was very well established, and I enjoyed all of the different side characters and their dynamics and overall small town antics. I will look forward to returning to this cast of characters.

Overall, it was super cute and I read it pretty quickly! I will read the next books in the interconnected series! I think I would like the other brothers better, honestly.
