Kate Middleton inscribes a beautiful vitality into the mysteries and histories of the Colorado River. As a reader, you feel Middleton understands the river's personality, its moodswings and the intricacies of its story. The free-verse, multi-media influenced format of the poetry means Middleton is able to delve into Nature's numerous characteristics as well as the various influences exerted upon it. Reading this was like running a finger down a spine, feeling every bone and dent. Once you have finished this, you will have breathed the air of the Colorado River and you too will wonder of its fate.

A wonderful book. I have had the pleasure of being in class with Kate, and she writes poetry the same way she teaches it, with great attention to detail, and obvious love.
