I thoroughly enjoyed this & it was exactly what I needed after reading three really hard going books emotionally before this. If I get butterflies the first time the characters kiss then I know I am into a winner :)

I liked that Joss's issue's weren't just sorted out and how they were ongoing, I found this to be more true to life. And aside from her issue's I really liked her.

I also loved that the author didn't overdo the Scottish accent, as a Celt myself it can actually put me off reading a book cause I keep thinking.....hang on, I don't speak like that!

And Braden....oh Braden. Who wouldn't want this awesome guy fighting your corner.

There were some real laugh out loud moments for me in this which just really added to the story and made the relationship more realistic. I find with some romance's the angst & sex just takes over & starts to get repetitive and push's the book too far away from reality. People are actually supposed to have fun with each other & actually enjoy each others company outside of the bedroom!

The surrounding characters such as Ellie & Adam were really great & definitely made the story for me.

Overall a great read & one I will definitely re-read some day :)

This book had too much sexy fun times resulting for me to skip most of those parts. Wild enough for me to read, but I still finished it–skim reading. ;D

1.5 - I don't know how this book ended up on my to-read list, but I saw it had a good rating and decided to go for it without reading a teaser. Had I read the teaser, I would have passed, but no, I just plowed ahead cringing every time the main dude eye molested the main character (every scene), called anyone "babe", and correctly guessed her cup size in one of their early conversations. No, thank you. The main character lapped that shit up and was okay with his overbearing, possessive, demanding bs cause he's hot. Yikes. I did like the prologue though.

I honestly didn't think this book lived up to its hype. The sex scenes were somewhat cheesy compared to other books I've read, & the ending was pretty predictable.

So, this book is 7.5 years old and I'm afraid my enjoyment of it suffered because of that. I felt like I had read this basic story over and over, dozens of times. Perhaps if I had read it when it was first published, I would've felt differently about it.

I also had a terrible time connecting with Joss. She's so broken, so closed up... yes, a tragic figure but not one I enjoyed reading about.

Cover: A little overly dramatic?
Narrator: She did a nice job with the American and Scottish accents. Her male characters were not great, but it wasn't a big issue.
Hogwarts Sorting Hat: I think they're both Slytherins!

Themes: loss, grief, Edinburgh, Virginia, family

I've read 6 Samantha Young novels back-to-back and may now need therapy.
I'm still gonna read more though!
