This book sucked! Poorly written, plot is so stupid and unbelievable. Characters were dull and burning, I just wished they all would die!

This story had potential but you can tell that this was a first novel. A few times I felt myself reading the same sentence or passage sometimes only a few paragraphs after the first one and then would reappear a few pages later. I did like the small chapters, makes it easy to read a few pages in between other tasks.

I had some sympathy with the main character but this quickly faded as the story progressed. I disliked most of the characters to be honest.

Overall, a decent book but needs tweaking and proof-reading! May try more of his books in the future.

The plot was entertaining and clever, although I was expecting a twist in the investigation at the end that didn’t happen. It was just too easy for Kat to plant all the evidence against Stephen and get away with everything. I was hoping the detective would discover the lies about Kat being Kirsty’s mother, the bullying etc... I think it would have been a more compelling ending.
A lot of repetition of lines and thoughts, the book could have been much shorter.
