It's hard to give it a true rating because it's such a nostalgic book for me. It's a fast read, but different and fun. A slice of life kind of book that's actually, well, realistic.

i feel like this book was one of the influences to me going through that arrogant, self absorbed teenager phase where i hated everything

Meh. I probably would've liked this better had I been a teen girl, but I'm beyond that stage of books, so this wasn't that great for me. It was on my list from forever ago, hence I read it.

My Almost Epic Summer was a 170-page book of fun and drama it pulled me right out of my reading slump. though I'm now in my 20's I still related to our heroine Irene.Since I felt she was very mature for a 14-year-old in most cases. Irene had so much growth throughout the book I'd love to see her grow more throughout high school, in a future series. This book is a perfect light-hearted by the pool read. You must read it before summer ends!
