this book was one of my favourites when i was little so when i found out there was a new book i had to read it again of course and it was just as magical as i remembered.
it’s definitely one of those books where you disappear into some magical world. it has been forever since i last read it so i barely remember the details and it’s almost like reading it again for the first time which is doing wonders for my inner child

What could make a fantasy even more enjoyable? Have it read by Lynn Redgrave. Her talent for voices and richness of voice makes the story sing. If you want an escape that can only be experienced from a well written fantasy book, definitely give Inkheart a listen.

I really wanted to like this one. I tried. But I just found it slow and not what I was expecting (I need to stop expecting things from books! It ruins them if my expectations are misplaced).

God I really wanted to like this, because I love the premise and the beginning is so promising. I read this as a kid, and I guess there’s a reason the only memories I have of it is the beginning and the end. This book could have been about 250 pages and it would have had a much bigger impact. I listened to the audiobook, and while I loved the narrator, I found myself tuning out for the entire middle of the book, because nothing really happens. It takes and hour of listening to the book for anything to happen. Great premise, but could have been much better executed.
