This was a very nice conclusion to a great series. Though I'm sad that Ember and the gang's story has come to a close, I'm pleased with how it ended.

Spoiler I will admit that I guessed several of the events that happened, but that was fine. I also was very glad that we FINALLY got an answer to the Garrett-basically-turning-into-a-dragon thing.

And I really want to see the drinking contest between Tristan, Riley and Jade. I am not kidding. Can you PLEEEASE write that, Ms. Kagawa?? Pretty please?

So in conclusion, the evil CEO is dead but her clone who multiple people have remarked is a lot like her and could potentially grow up to be like her is now the new CEO, and has thousands of years to grow wary the same way her original did. And the main counter force that kept dragons from world domination--which is revealed to have been motivated by a fear of humans--is a whopping 11 people. This while there are now US military wittnesses to the existence of dragons who have reason to believe that they're hostile. The Shen Lung have also been forced out of neutrality despite the hostile agents having been stopped. But the love interest probably aquired a dragon lifespan through a blood transfusion so happy ending.

Meh. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have stuck with this series if it wasn't for the dragons. I can't actually point to something I loved about the characters (Ember in particular was spectacularly bland) and while the plot concept isn't terrible, it really felt dragged out. I bet you could have trimmed two whole books out without losing much of the main plot beats.

What an ending! A wonderful finale to the series! I was so nervous to see how this all ended and what happened to these characters. I am so satisfied by how everything went down.

I’m so glad I read this series! I really enjoyed my time in this world and with these characters. The story continued to get better and better with each book. By this final installment, I was hooked completely. I highly enjoyed these characters and the story.
