I was a bit annoyed with the author at times, but overall I really enjoyed the book because it combines 2 of my passions: travel and current events/social issues. I learned more about Burma (now Myanmar) than I knew previously and in return it caused me to do some more independent research on the war torn nation.

Every aspect of the book is interesting and Connelly tells the story perfectly for those who are politically or sociologically inclined to read this book.
