All the parallels between this and the original story brooo
I thought you can't make orphans suffer anymore than the og bsd, but holy shit man poor Akutagawa. Killing off all his friends, separating him from his sister, AND rubbing salt in the wound. Mr. "Man-In-Black", that's rough.
ADA!OdaSaku, ADA!Akutagawa, PM!Atsushi, and PM!Kyouka are something I never knew I needed until now. And of course, mafia boss Dazai 👀 Now I can't tell if this switch-around is better for all the characters involved because on one hand, Oda is here and very alive, Aku is in a better environment without the whole cycle of abuse, and Oda seems to be a much better mentor to Aku than Dazai was, but Atsushi as Dazai's right hand man? Who knows what that poor kid had to go through, he's clearly traumatised from something. And what about Dazai? What did he suffer through to become the literal leader of the Port Mafia? Kinda scared to know.
On a brighter note, let's talk about Beast!Chuuya's conflicted yet unwavering loyalty to Dazai ðŸ˜ignore me using a random excuse to connect everything to Chuuya It's kinda unnerving ngl, I'm not used to seeing Chuuya so vocally respect and support Dazai, but ig that makes sense since Dazai is now the leader and Chuuya admires strong leaders, also it's his duty as an executive to protect the boss. But what was the need for that one BL ass skk panel, hmmm? Never escaping the gay allegations, I fear.
And ooooh the different art style is a total vibe.Â

Very interesting take on the original story. If you enjoy the characters from the main story, I think you’d definitely enjoy this one. The art is especially appealing in this story so far~
