I will protect Cordelia at all costs *sobbing*. What a beautiful storyline to be brought into this world.

I think the time skip in this volume was such a strange choice, especially given the introduction of the romance between Thorfinn and Gudrid. I didn't feel a ton of chemistry between them so going right from a confession to the circumstances the ended up in felt so strange to me. I felt the same way about some of their other conflicts as well and was curious if maybe the number of volumes Yukimura was given for Vinland Saga was decreased at some point because the story in this volume felt really rushed. Despite this, I did enjoy the overall progression of the rest of the plot and felt comforted by the resolution of the arcs of some of the characters. I did feel a little bit conflicted about both Cordelia's plotline and the way Vinland's natives were discussed. In both cases it seems like Yukimura was earnestly trying to portray these plotlines in a generous way but I'm not sure he quite hit the mark. I'll be interested to see how they develop in the final volume. Overall, I think this is a pretty solid volume but it would be much better with many more in between this one and the last.

A bit of a slower volume but still great. I like the conclusion of Sigurds story. Sets up the coming arc in a good way.
