Enjoyed this take on rom com / relationships.

Lifelong best friends are truly special. When you love your best friend the way Bella loves Ellie, it’s hard to adjust to changes in their life.

The relationship with their significant other being hard to navigate and the jealousy from sharing their attention.

I have so many mixed feelings here! I absolutely couldn't put this audiobook down, but I also found the protagonist infuriating. All in all, this was a fun play on some classic fairy tale stories. I felt like the redemptive arc was good, and the protagonist (FINALLY) learned her lesson by the end of the book, but boy howdy was it a wild ride. Plus I always love a bookish story, so the publishing house was a fun part of the story for me!

The audio was wonderful, and I would 10/10 recommend the audio to anyone looking to read this book!

Overall, I really like it! Thanks to Netgalley for the advanced copy of this audiobook to review! All thoughts are mine.

Not That Kind of ever after is a mash-up of a fairy tale retelling that warms the heart.
Bella is a secretary at a publishing firm and really she dreams of being a writer, as a hopeless romantic, she is searching for her Prince Charming: but it seems like all the men she meets are the toads.
This book gave me a lot of Bridget Jones Diary & Sex and The City energy. Very flirty, very honest and a little chaotic. The main character Bella is sweet, if not a little much, but I think that is why we are able to like her so much.
This book is highly creative, nearly addictive and one could argue that it may put some of our own dreams into perspective.

I like the concept of the book, and I loved the ending so much. I, however, found the main character so annoying and self-absorbed. I almost stopped reading so many times because I just didn't like her at all. Then she goes through a major growth and becomes someone I was actually rooting for. The book was very good and entertaining.
