holy cow i think this may be the best, horrific, can’t sleep tonight, psychological thrillers i have read the entire YEAR. when i finished this book i had chills over my ENTIRE body. this book is dark, gruesome, and gnarly in every sense of the matter. there are so many elements to brooke’s living-nightmare i don’t even know where to beginnn when things get worse, they get even worse, and worse, and worse. it’s incredibly overwhelming. i think i stopped breathing about 80% in

This reminded me a lot of the book Rebecca with a more bloody twist. I really liked this book up until the last few chapters where it just felt like the author decided there needed to be more twists which were unneeded and didn’t make a whole lot of sense.

4.5 stars - Holy cow. I thought I had reached the climax of the book, but then I realized my kindle said I was only at 60% or so - from that point on it was just one crazy thing after another! Also loved how the author wove some characters from her previous books in!

Just wow is all I can say. I never saw the twist coming. It was gut wrenching. I am at a loss for words.

This book was a good read and I will keep it on my shelves to one day read again, but it was  very Jerky at times, like the plot would halt then shoot forward and I wish there was a little bit more tension and build up to the climax. Otherwise her writing was great!

It takes a very special book for me to finish in a day and this one was it! My heart is RACING from this book! Look up trigger warnings it is dark but oh so good!

Brooke meets her Prince Charming, a surgeon in Laguna Beach who whisks her away and saves her from her past and life. What started as a fairy tale, ended in a nightmare.

I read this in 2 days. I couldn’t stop! It took my emotions all over the place, including some low lows. It kept surprising me with what was next. It includes PTSD responses varying in different circumstances which I felt was a bit of an empathy developer. I don’t want to give too much away or else I’d have so much more to say!! I loved the way this was written!

“If there is one thing I know with certainty, it’s that the two most powerful forces in the world are love and grief. Because when you’ve had either, or both, you’ll never, ever be the same.”
