This is my first foray into this world, and I love it already. The illustrations in this novel were so beautiful that it made up for the often bonkers translation.

More importantly, I would die for Lan Wangji.

I loved this drama in 2020, and I'm so excited to be reading the US published translation of the original novel! MDZS was the single thread getting me through the early months of the pandemic and going back to work. I'm really enjoying seeing how well this was adapted despite Chinese censorship. And it's fun to see what they modified to make it work for screen! I love these characters and their relationship, and I can't wait to read volume two soon.

Endlich habe ich Band 1 beendet, und es hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Irgendwann schaue ich auch die Serie weiter, versprochen. Band 2 liegt auch schon da.

I just loved this book so much, I admit that i had to struggle at some points because of the long chapters and never ending names and clans, but these 2 just make my day better!
