I didn't think I would like this book but I did. It is short (less than 200 pages) but wasn't rushed. I think thats what stood out most to me, it wasn't instant, especially from everything Mal went through before getting to this point. Didn't feel cheesy and I really liked the relationship with all their friends and Lizzie. The ending did fell rushed (the last handful of chapter) but it still worked out. Would recommend, this was a good one!

Lacey Black has done it again! This is a start to the new interconnected series “Burgers and Brew Crue”, and in her typical fashion she has given us an amazing story filled with complex characters and a great story line.

This is Mallory and Walker’s story, Walker is part owner of the local restaurant/bar with his 3 best friends and is dancing his way through life on his bar every Saturday night, that is until he meets the newest addition to the Burgers and Brew family. Mallory is a single mom with one agenda and that’s to start over fresh in a new town to give her daughter a better life, what she wasn’t expecting was to be literally thrown by a set of beautiful blue eyes.

Lacey Black just writes good romance, she gives you everything, you will get a little drama, lots of emotions and the perfect amount of steam. This was a great start and I cannot wait to read the rest of the series!

Kickstart My Heart wonderfully kicks off Ms Blacks new Burgers and Brew Crüe series with a delightful slow burn romance between bartender and part owner Walker and new day server and single mum Mallory. And with great pacing, brilliant characters, and an adorable three-year-old called Lizzie, this was a genuinely engaging, enjoyable, and charming read. And I can't wait to read more from the Brew Crüe in the future. Would happily recommend.

This was an absolute swoon-worthy story, with a group of friends, a bar, a single mom and an adorable toddler.
It will melt your heart and your panties

Kickstart My Heart is the first book in a new series, Burgers and Brew Crue. This series is about four friends who own a bar/restaurant. So far, I'm in love with them all, but first up is Walker. He's the bartender extraordinaire, the sexy man behind the bar with the Saturday night ritual that had me fanning myself! He's a lover of women and all things Mötley Crüe. A man after my own heart! Mallory is the new server, a single mom new to town and as soon as Walker sees her he can't take his eyes off her. She's off limits because they work together, but he can't seem to stay away from her. Mallory needs a job so she can take care of her daughter. This is going to work out perfectly with her babysitter's schedule and her little girl. Except she can't stop thinking about Walker. This is not going to be good! But, when Walker, Isaac, Jasper and Jameson all start to treat her like family, wanting to help and protect her, it's game over. Especially Walker with his sexy…everything. The way he treats her daughter makes her swoon. When her past catches up to her she realizes Walker is the man she wants, she just has to fight for him. Oh man! This story is so good! Lacey really brings her A game with these sexy friends who are so different, but fun, smart and loving. They have a bond that's lasted years and this series is going to be one of my favorites, I just know it!

I'm not a mother but I would never be ok with this instant connection between a guy I'm lusting after and my kid. It was really uncomfortable to me to read. I'll give that he was already attracted to her but h only took action after meeting her daughter I know the author tried to be sweet but it was just creepy to me.

Oh my goodness such a sweet story. Right from the start with the love at first sight, we knew this was going to be a good one. Our MMC, Walker, runs a trendy bar and restaurant and our FMC, Mal, is fleeing a shit situation with her daughter. One major plus from this book is that neither character give up on each other especially when times get tough which from a parents perspective, we jump for joy because no kids deserve to get left in the wind when adults can’t make decisions. This world is set up so cute and I can’t wait to see what the other books have in store for us.
