This book was really good. I think it was a really good conclusion to the series. This is my favourite in the series even though lots of people didn’t like it. Shadow of the fox gets second place and soul of the sword is my least favourite even though I still loved it!!

-Spoilers-
World building:
I really love Iwagoto and all the magic and creatures in it. I really liked reading about all the clans throughout the series and liked the focus on the moon clan in this book

Plot:
I really love the action in this series and I was never bored. The sea monster towards the end of part 1 was crazy and I always love an oni haha
The ending didn’t go where I thought it would at all and also that plot twist with Seigetsu was really good and I did not see it coming

Characters

Yumeko: she was fairly silly and a bit hopeless in the first book but her character development was amazing. I felt so bad for her
Tatsumi: I loved Tatsumi in this book and his love life was the bomb. His death was shocking
Suki: she is honestly just a meh character for me and I’m a bit unsure of why she was that important. She did all these little things but idk lol
Okame: loved him like always but whyyy Julie Kagawa?! Why did he have to die?!
Chu: I loved dogs so I love chu
Daisuke: he was annoying at first but gosh he is so great now. I was really sad when he and Daisuke died
Reika: Reika is probably in my top 5 characters of allllll time ( you know what she is my second favourite book character of all time) . I teared up and leaked a couple of years when she died
Taka: so underrated and funny
Seigestu : shocker!!!!
Kiyomi: it was nice to meet her and I felt happy for Yumeko

*I received a free copy of Night of The Dragon. This has in no way influenced my voluntary review which is honest and unbiased*

What an ending to the trilogy! There was a lot of action, and I truly was at the edge of my seat for most of the story. The relationships between the characters were still a strong point for me, especially because there were some losses that touched me very deeply.

This book has me sliding down the wall, throwing up, sobbing, cursing the gods and manifesting a love as pure as the ones in this book all at the same time. I legit went through the 5 stages of grief so if you read it buckle up besties for the emotional roller coaster that Julie Kagawa straps you on and refuses to let you off until the rides over, no matter how may times you pass out from overwhelm. I may never recover from this book and I have to be ok with that.

I'm smiling like an idiot right now. That ending... it was all so perfect. The begging, the end everything was something. I felt so much emotions through all this trilogy and I'm so glad this book was the best one to close an amazing YA fantasy series. I must repeat that I really loved everything. And I can't say much because I don't want to do any spoiler but... damn. I didn't expect anything that happened, and I'm just so glad that everything fitted correctly to make my heart bump like crazy and... You just need to read this book.
