A couple years ago I listened to Elizabeth Smart's book. I wasn't overly impressed so I put this one on my list to gain some different insight. Though I wasn't a big fan of the other one, this one is worse. I feel like it's just superficial, without any real detail on what daily life was like trying to cope with what was going on, or if there were weird moments when Elizabeth came back. Instead, it came off as everything was a hundred percent hunky dory. So yeah, wasn't a big fan. Glad it was a quick read

Not the most organized, well written book I've ever read, but that seems beside the point. It was more than anything a spiritual story, and gave information of how the family dealt with the abduction without resorting to salacious details.

The story itself of course is inspiring, heartbreaking, compelling, interesting, etc etc. But the writing and the telling of the story was just completely awful 🤷🏻‍♀️

This book brought tears to my eyes from time to time. I was so glad to know she was returned safe and sound.

I highly reccomend this book to anyone that has ever had to deal with this issue, or if you know someone who has gone through this.
