Really good and I intend to finish later -- just wasn't in the right headspace.

Didn’t end up finishing this one, but not because it wasn’t good! Really liked the Gbessa’s POV as a child, it was really well-written. I think the magical realism didn’t hit home for me, but maybe I didn’t read enough. Overall really good!!

This story is inspirational. I particularly love how she describes Africa as “Free land” (contextual its so relevant and thought provoking).  The audiobook narration is magical!
