I know I've only given it two stars, however there were some brilliant poems within! I really did enjoy 'Shattered'.

The experimentation of layout in terms of stanza length and shape is something I appreciate in any poetry, so this book did deliver on that front.

I also think this collection of poetry covers some deep topics and is clearly about a troubling time/situation in the life of the narrator (whether that is the narrator or the poet I am unclear without further research).

What brought my rating of this book down is that the poetry is extremely repetitive in content. Which in itself does produce an effect, but it was just one that wasn't for me!

TW - the poetry itself does cover familial relations and physical abuse.

Really impactful book of poetry on abusive childhoods and parents. I found it really resonated with me. I would love to see more from this author.
